Annecy's International Animation Film Festival begins this weekend with a program rich in exclusive projections, specialized conferences and artistic meetings!
Now is the time at Annecy with the long -awaited return of the International Animation Film Festival. A 49th strong edition of exceptional events and ever more prestigious talents who came to celebrate the best of animation cinema in the world!
This year, the festival notably welcomes the director Michel Gondry as a guest of honor, but also Matt Groening, a famous creator of the Simpsons, for an exclusive round table centered on the cult series and its inheritance, which will both receive an honor crystal 2025 to greet their invaluable contribution to animation.
We also count on the presence of big names of Disney, like that of the Oscar -winning director Pete Doctor, to talk about the future of Pixar studios at a “spotlight” conference. The opportunity to discover the first minutes of their next feature films: Elio and Toy Story 5. An overview of the second part of Zootopia is expected in a special session, presented by Jared Bush.
The Nostalgic Arcane, will be able to console themselves thanks to an immersive and ephemeral exhibition. A recreational journey through the wonderful universe animated by Fortiche and Riot Games which promises to seduce all lovers of the series. Accessible as free entry, the lucky ones present on site will have the opportunity to discover exclusive artworks and the creative process.
In terms of projections, pretty nuggets from all over the world are planned, among which, the future winner of the feature film crystal which will succeed the moving Memoirs of an Adam Elliot snail awarded in 2024.

Hungary, in the spotlight!
This year, the festival highlights heritage films and contemporary productions of Hungarian animation with a program rich in feature films, making-off and exhibitions.

Eurozoom “The 4 souls of the Coyote”
The country will notably propose the rediscovery of several of its films:
Hungary will also be represented within the jury by the presence of György Ráduly, director of the film archives at the National Film Institute, and directors Nadja Andrasev and Réka Bucsi.

- A masterclass provided by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, creator of the emblematic series Bojack Horseman
