Yellowstone: Have you noticed this link between John Dutton and this character of the prequel 1923? – News series

Fans of “Yellowstone” noticed this link between the intrigue of the main series and that of the prequel “1923”.

They can be regarded independently, but the Yellowstone series are still connected to each other. New proof was given to us with 1923, the second pre which exploring the youth of Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), the grandfather of the future John Dutton (embodied by Kevin Costner).

The end of 1923 echoes the personal history of John Dutton

The two men share much more than a family name, and this particularly moving detail proves it. In Yellowstone, John Dutton is the father of four children, whom he has raised alone since the death of his wife Evelyne. If he has maintained more or less serious romantic connections, he never wanted to find a new woman.

This is also the case of Spencer Dutton. At the end of a long journey, the latter managed to return to Montana to find his wife Alexandra. Short -term reunion, since the young woman preferred to give her life to save that of their child: a son named John (who is none other than the father of the John Dutton of Yellowstone).

The curse of the Dutton?

It is therefore as a widowed father that Spencer inherited the Yellowstone. The epilogue of 1923 also tells us that he found love a few years later, but did not wish to remarry either. Spencer and John therefore inherited the two of the same tragic fate.

John Dutton also has a link that connects him to his great grandfather James Dutton (Tim McGraw), the protagonist of the prequel 1883. Both have experienced the pain of losing their eldest child.

In Yellowstone, John lost his oldest son Lee Dutton (in the very first episode of the series), while in the prequel it is Elsa Dutton who loses her father's arms.
