Newschannel 8 receives a letter. A letter was passed by the city councilor Vanessa Hall Harper on Thursday night by North Tulsa residents and Greenwood Business owners on Thursday night as they went to a meeting for Kirkpatric Heights updates. A project we have mentioned for the last few years.
Partnertulsa is leading the project. The organization said for 16 months, they have led the community plan for the master plan for the redevelopment of 56 acres of land in North Tulsa. It gave birth to a community governance work group of about 30 community volunteers, who spent a year in researching governance. Subsequently, in October 2024, Greenwood Legacy Corporation was motivated to help in the view of the plan. Thursday's meeting was to establish board members for GLC and to include community members.
As the owner of the business went on like Cleo Harris, who owns the Black Wall Street T-shirt and souvenirs, she also received a letter from the hall Harper, who says that she was warning people in her district, “Partertulasa has not worked in the best interests of district 1, but is working to carry forward the ongoing destruction.”
She calls GLC a “false front”.
Hall Harper said that his concerns were ignored by Partertulasa, and they were told that the elected officers could not serve on the board, saying that those who were selected “were chosen behind the closed doors.”
She says that Partertulsa and GLC cannot be tried and tried to remove her concerns, but says, “I have been constantly disregarded and humiliated.”

Although I can understand some of his frustrations, I am honorable at the intentions and tasks of the Greenwood Legacy Corporation, 'We are not one in front.' I realize that community development should be placed in transparency, accountability and meaningful engagement with residents, partners and stakeholders. It is important to assess the initiative of constant and well development to ensure that they are justified and actually serve the best interests of our community. By closely collaborating with residents, stakeholders, community members and local organizations, the Greenwood Legacy Corporation will promote CDC development that uplifts the north Tulsa and generates money-making opportunities for black basil, 1921 race descendants of massacre victims, and northern Tulsa residents equally.

After 16 months of the 40 meetings and a community-led plan involving 1,000 inhabitants, Tulsa City Council approved the Kirkpatric Heights-Greenwood Master Plan, which explore a vision for 56 acres in North Tulsa's Kirkpatric Heights and Greenwood neighborhood and a vision for inclusive redevelopment. As per the recommendation in the master plan, a community governance work group containing about 30 community volunteers dedicated an entire year of research on the national model for governance. This work formed the Greenwood Legacy Corporation (GLC), which was established to direct and implement the vision of the plan of an independent Community Development Corporation established in October 2024.
We appreciate the Board of Directors of GLC for its dedication and leadership as it now focuses on establishing governance structures, hiring employees and developing an operational plan. As an independent unit, GLC is well deployed to complete this transformative task, and we want the board to continue to carry forward a bold, community -led future.
