Every day, Allociné recommends a film to (re) see on TV. Tonight: Impossible to forget this action film describes as one of the best of the genre of the 90s!
In the top 3 of the best films signed Michael Bay, we find, without big surprise, Pearl Harbor in first place, followed by rock, the explosive action film noted 3.7 out of 5 and which has marked many spectators.
Released in the cinema in 1996, one year after Bad Boys and two years before Armageddon, the cult film opens onto the destructive project of General Hummel (Ed Harris). Exasperated by the injustice of his government, he went master of the island of Alcatraz and threatens to launch a deadly gas on San Francisco.
Two men are responsible for countering it: Stanley Goodspeed (Nicolas Cage), a chemical arms expert, and John Patrick Mason (Sean Connery), the only prisoner to have escaped from Alcatraz. The two men go to the island in order to stop the general's projects.
To give life to this action film, Michael Bay was able to count on the help of a large filmmaker: Quentin Tarantino. Indeed, this cinema monster participated in writing the rock script, and more particularly in its dialogues.
Thirty years and not a single wrinkle!
Released thirty years ago, Rock is always considered an excellent action film, cult and effective, thanks to its frantic pace, its spectacular scenes and its shock duo that Sean Connery And Nicolas Cage (including the character of Dr. Stanley Goodspeed should have been interpreted by Arnold Schwarzenegger).
Sean Connery embodies a hard -to -cook veteran, charismatic and cynical, which could quite be a new James Bond. For his part, Nicolas Cage Leads his features to an awkward, neurotic and unpredictable FBI scientist. Two very different characters, who carry the film on their shoulders.
Rock is often quoted as one of the classics of the genre of the 90s. It must be said that for more than two hours, Michael Bay Send us continuous action: a series of explosions, chase, shootings, and all this, in a frantic pace.
Obviously, all this adrenaline worthy of the cinema of Michael Bay would be nothing without the emblematic soundtrack signed, in part, by Hans Zimmer. Finally, Franck Sinatra also composed the song of the film entitled Leaving on has jet plane. Just that!
