Final Fantasy is one of the most famous licenses in the history of video games. However, there is no need to be a connoisseur of the franchise to appreciate “Kingsglaive”. A fully impressive feature film, to see on Netflix.
Final Fantasy is one of the most famous video game licenses. Born in 1987 and launched by Hironobu Sakaguchi, widely entered in pop culture since, it has been the property of the Japanese publisher Square Enix. A real martingale and cash machine, with its titles declined on all possible supports, and not only on consoles.
Released in 2001, entirely made in images of synthesis by its creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, Final Fantasy: the creatures of the Spirit marked a revolution in the history of cinema. It was the first feature film in synthesis of synthesis aimed at representing human beings in a realistic way. And the result was, and still remains with its passage in 4K UHD, actually very impressive.
Even if, ultimatelythe commercial result was an absolute disaster. Five years later, Square Enix released a new feature film in summary images, just as impressive: Final Fantasy – Advent Children. The know-how of the teams behind these creations has largely become a global reputation.
The Kingsglaive slap
To accompany the launch of his Final Fantasy XV game at the end of 2016, the publisher launched in September a very impressive new feature film entirely produced in synthetic images. His name? Kingsglaive.
Directed by Takeshi Nozue, which was already at work on the film CGI of Final Fantasy: Advent Children, Kingsglaive is part of the narrative arc designed by the publisher around the game. The events described in the film take place before those of Final Fantasy XV.

Those who play Final Fantasy will have the satisfaction of seeing and immersing themselves in a in -depth story around Final Fantasy XV, and, at the same time, those who do not know the license will be able to understand the story without difficulty. Indeed. There is no need to be a fan or connoisseur of the Final Fantasy franchise to appreciate this Kingdom History on fire and blood, which remains, almost ten years after its release, another real technical tour de force, always as impressive visually. But there is more. In his English version, Kingsglaive is very convincingly doubled by a beautiful brochette of actors: Aaron Paul, Lena Headey, or Sean Bean.
