3rd in the ranking of the most watched films on the platform, this contaminated invasion film is a hit on Netflix, and it is linked to the cinema news.
The classification of the most consulted films on Netflix is always surprising, because feature films present in the catalog for months, emerge according to the fluctuations of spectators on the platform and the news. This is evidenced by the 3rd film in this ranking, 28 weeks later.
Second installment of a saga

20th Century Fox Invasion of contaminated!
While 28 years later is currently in the cinemas supervised by Danny Boyle, this saga actually goes back in the early 2000s. The British director imagines a virus transmitting by blood or bite and transforming the population into creatures of pure rage. The film is called 28 days later and its success leads to the launch of a suite.
This time, Danny Boyle lets go of the project to go and do Sunshine and because his idea of a “29 days later” with the cast of the first film (Cillian Murphy and Naomie Harris) is rejected. The rest, titled 28 weeks later, will therefore be staged by the Spaniard Juan Carlos Fresnadillo that we recently reviewed in control of the young lady and the dragon for Netflix with Millie Bobby Brown.
Full of known faces

20th Century Fox Jeremy Renner and Rose Byrne
If we find a nervous staging “at the Danny Boyle” during the film and a lot of shoulder camera, we can also rediscover a lot of known heads like Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye at Marvel), Rose Byrne (Insidious), Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty), Harold Perrineau (Oz, Lost) (Luther, Mandela), Catherine McCormack (Braveheart), Imogen Poots (Outer Range) or in its first role Emily Beecham (Daphne).
The film therefore takes place in a context where the contamination linked to the “infected” resurgence “has been contained. We follow two children who go in search of their mother and discover that she is infected but also that she is always herself. This could come from its genetic code. When brought back to town for a battery of exams, the situation degenerates …
Unfortunately, 28 days later is not available on the platform and only this second opus is visible on Netflix. It is moreover dispensable to understand the issues of 28 years later, which is self-sufficient. It nevertheless allows you to extend the experience if you liked the film at the cinema.
