This is one of the last big Hollywood stars … Oddly, this fantastic film, one of the most expensive of all time, tells a little his life

You will no longer read the People pages on Brad Pitt as before, after seeing World War Z. Attention, fanciful article!

Be careful, spoilers! This article reveals the intrigue of World War Z. If you have not seen it, do not read the following.

When we look at Brad Pitt's filmography and come across World War Z, there is like something wrong. Why this film? Why a zombie film in the career of one of the most recognized actors of the moment? Because, indeed, the star has worked his filmography over the years and carefully avoided the game of summer superproductions as soon as seen, as soon as forgotten.

The answer is simple: because World War Z is actually the story of Brad Pitt.

What is World War Z about?

Marc Foster's film starts a day like any other. But Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) and his family find themselves stuck in a monster traffic jam on their daily journey. He quickly understands that the situation is extraordinary in the literal sense of the term. People attack each other violently. A fatal virus is propagating.

With great reinforcements of means worthy of the biggest Hollywood superproductions and rather successful special effects, World War Z comes out of the classic rails of the zombie film. Some sequences surprise. The main characters are constantly going up in planes to fly over places. Maybe not only for the pleasure of aerial views …

But if we read between the lines, the intrigue of World War Z is actually very clear. This is the story of Brad Pitt, the most famous celebrities and a father.

A metaphor for Brad Pitt's life

Think of the film with this prism in mind. The film begins with Brad Pitt trying to live the life of a normal father with his wife and children. But they are immediately besieged by a horde of terrifying and drooling creatures. According to this metaphor, the zombies replace paparazzi or anyone eager to know more about their favorite star by throwing themselves on the slightest info having his name in the title.

It is clear that Gerry/Brad and his family cannot return home. They need to live in a safe place, away from the world. In the film, it is the UN command center aboard a ship. As a bonus, they adopt an orphan along the way.

Escape world hysteria

Throughout the film, Gerry travels the world. Like Brad Pitt. And each time, it's the riot. A riot of zombies, but it seems comparable to a riot of rabid fans. At the very end, he injects a fatal disease because he understood that zombies do not attack sick people in terminal phase or people seriously injured, because they are not hosts appropriate for infection.

Gerry/Brad then walks in a corridor filled with creatures in a state of brain. They turn around, run towards him – and finally miss him right. It is the ultimate dream of the Hollywood star besieged. The possibility of walking freely, without fear that anyone who comes to disturb him, jump to his neck whether he is alone or with the family.

World War Z is now available in the Netflix catalog.
