Mexico City — Mexican President Claudia Shinbam on Friday urged US officials not to target the individuals participating in the Gold Cup soccer match at Los Angeles between Mexican National Team and Dominican Republic.
Dozens of workers have been detained by federal immigration officers in a range of raids in La's fashion district and at the Home Depot Parking Site in Southern California. More than 100 people have been detained.
“We do not believe that if there is a football game then there will be a raid.” “We hope no one will be. We do not take any action from American immigration and customs enforcement.”
LAPD and other agencies are aggressively cleaning the LA roads, where protesters pushed against police lines.
Mexico has been scheduled to play the Republic of Dominican on Saturday night at the Sophie Stadium in English, in a group stage match of Gold Cup.
Typically, the Mexican National Team Match attracts thousands of fans whenever plays in Southern California. Their last match was in March, when over 50,000 fans against Canada participated in a League of Nations semi -finals.
Among the most recent measures in the administration's immigration crack, President Donald Trump posted National Guard soldiers and Marines in the Los Angeles area after raiding the days of protests across the city. There have been many protests in the city of the city, from calm to bumpy. Over the weekends, the protesters blocked a major freeway and set the cars on fire.

Shinbam also said that Mexican consulates in the United States have implemented an information campaign guide for Mexican in case of unjust detention by immigration authorities.
“This campaign that we are doing through consulets will provide all the information that if the detained, as well as what to do with the families is to do,” Shinbam said.
