The city of Tybi Island shared South and Sand Bar Awareness Video: 'Be aware, be safe'

Tybee Island, Ga. (WTOC) – Saturday, the city of Tybi Island shared a social media post about South and Sand Bar awareness.

He urged to be aware of the beach and remain safe.

“Although it looks attractive, the Tybi South and Sand Bar is actually a very dangerous area where swimmers may quickly strong from current during a mounting tide,” the city of Tybi wrote.

They have written about the situations that can turn into a risky position.

The city of Tybi wrote, “Rip streams, sudden drop-offs, and rapidly changing tide can turn a fun day on the beach to a risky position.”

The city of Tybi also reminded the beach cowers about Tybi City Code 12-1A (20). According to this code, “It is also illegal for anyone whether he walks, swim or exit the south end sand bar region.”
