Atalanta v Parma
Serie A match at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo
TV: OneFootball
Atalanta to win
It’s job done in terms for Atalanta’s season with Gian Piero Gasperini’s team unmoveable from third place in Serie A regardless of how the extended final weekend of the season plays out.
They cannot catch the teams above, and Juventus are too far behind to jump up from fourth spot, as Gasperini’s charges host Parma.
Atalanta are the only team in the top five to have won more Serie A games on the road than at home this season, with 13 compared to 9, but they are unbeaten in their last six with five wins.
Parma would need a few results to go against them on Sunday night to be relegated, so the visitors will likely be clock watching in the second half, with Empoli and Venezia in action.
Mateo Retegui to score
Italy international Mateo Retegui has stormed away with the Serie A Golden Boot this season and he heads into the final game with a career-best 25 league goals scored.
That has already broken Filippo Inzaghi’s record of 24 league goals scored in the Serie A season for the club. But he’s tied 28 goals in all competitions in a club season with Duvan Zapata from 2018/19.
He needs just one more goal to break both records outright, and he has three goals in his last six games, plus he netted in the 3-1 win at Parma in November.
Venezia v Juventus
Serie A match at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium, Venice
TV: OneFootball
Juventus to win
Elsewhere on the final day of Serie A action, Juventus have a job to do at Venezia.
Juventus need a win to confirm top four, and a spot in the Champions League, whilst hosts Venezia require an unlikely victory to save themselves from relegation – so the stakes are high in Venice.
A draw could be enough for Juve, if results elsewhere go their way, but Igor Tudor will not want to take any chances.
The visitors are unbeaten in their last four league games, but with two home wins and two draws on the road, so it could be a nervous night for the Old Lady.
Athletic Club v Barcelona
La Liga match at the Estadio San Mames, Bilbao
TV: Premier Sports 1 / La Liga TV
Both teams to score in the first half: Yes
From the tension of Venice to the pressure-free zone of Bilbao.
With the Man United and Spurs fans cleared off home, Athletic Club can get their season ticked off against the champions, as Barcelona roll into town.
The hosts have already secured their Champions League place, so there should be a bit of a party mood, with both bosses expected to rotate.
Eight of Barcelona’s last 10 games in all competitions have featured both teams scoring and Athletic Club have found the back of the net in six of their last seven home league clashes.
If you are looking to stretch the value a little further, three of Barcelona’s last six have also featured a goal for both teams before the half-time whistle.
Robert Lewandowski to score
Robert Lewandowski’s injury at the end of April allowed Kylian Mbappe to sprint clear in the La Liga Golden Boot race but the Poland international has still battered in 25 league goals this season.
That’s his best La Liga return since joining Barcelona in 2023 and 40 goals scored overall is another tally topper.
Either side of his injury, the former Bayern Munich hitman has not scored a league goal for two months, but he has three in six against the Basque side.
