The final episode of “Stranger Things” will be broadcast next December. But don't worry about fans, since a new series is announced on Netflix from 2026!
A new Stranger Things series is coming, and it will not be necessary to wait very long to discover it! As we know, the end of the cult series of Netflix is soon since the fifth and last season of the program will be broadcast at the end of the year on the platform, in three parts: November 26, December 24 and 31.
The Stranger Things stop will undoubtedly mark the end of an era for Netflix, as the series is associated with the platform. And yet, it will not be the final end of the franchise since a spin-off expected in 2026 has just been officially announced.
Unveiled during the Netflix panel organized at the Annecy 2025 festival, the animation series Stranger Things: Tales From '85 will act as prequel since its intrigue will take place between seasons 2 and 3 of the main program. We will find the main heroes, as well as a new new character: Nikki, a young badass girl wearing a mohawk.
Other spin-offs could also see the light of day
The series will follow the fight led by the group of friends in front of a new threat. This new production was designed as a tribute to the cartoons on Saturday morning, while the visual aspect is inspired by the aesthetics of Spider-Man New Generation films and the Arcane series.
This is the very first animated production derived from the Stranger Things franchise. Before that, many board games, various derivative products and adaptations in video games and play have already emerged.
There is no doubt that it will not be the last spin-off in the series. The Duffer brothers – the creators of Stranger Things – have already mentioned the possibility that the world of the saga is the subject of new derived productions. And there is no doubt that Netflix will be more than delighted to extend the existence of its hen with golden eggs!
