Change of register
Mike Flanagan himself made a name for himself thanks to his horrifying series on Netflix – The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Sermons and Midnight Club to name a few – but also his adaptations of Stephen King. We owe him notably Jessie on Netflix, Doctor Sleep – the sequel to Shining – and soon the Carrie series.
“”I especially worked in horror, but what connects me to him, I believe is this attachment to the human race. King often says that horror, in him, only works if there is love at the heart of historyadds the director. I had never worked on such a pure project. It is an honor to have been able to follow Stephen King on this less expected path.“”
Mike Flanagan says that he cried from start to finish by reading the news for the first time in 2020. Will spectators be also moved indoors?
