In Tampa Gulf, summer heat has officially buried its scorching nose in sand, and it is not showing any signal to finish.
Constant days of summer are common because heat comes in full swing. But what has not been so consistent is the afternoon storm in the region.
In the last one week, with thunder, often overnight, often illuminating the midnight sky, rolled at a strange time. The time of these thunderstorms comes for small, subtle changes in the atmosphere.
In the next week, more hot days are expected, as well as scattered shower is likely to affect most parts of the country affecting the dry air arising out of the large -scale heat dome.
But whether late night storms that are awake you will continue, it is not clear.
Here is the breakdown of mechanics behind our heat heat and thunder.
Thunderstorm
This is not heat in Tampa Bay without afternoon rain. And when popping with thunderstorms, they have gripped through unexpected hours.
Typically, thunder is operated by some factors, such as high pressure location and summer and sea air collision.
“The land gets heated faster than the water, which makes the sea winds, and with the sea winds where the thunder begins,” said Austain Flaming Meteorologist of Tampa Bay of National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms in the odd hours of the day are also involved on Friday morning, when the shower sinks many people of Tampa Bay.
When the thunderstorm comes, how it comes down, and how strongly, the wind blows.
If the winds come from the east, which has recently occurred, the storms are usually formed later.
Flenry said that small changes in the atmosphere have inspired the thunderstorm to be even after normal.
Westerley winds are weakened, causing them to get stuck near the coast. In addition, there is a drying air, which meant that a difficult time was becoming with thunderstorms.
After the sun set, the sea air could move inland, colliding with the sea air from the opposite coast in later hours, usually after going to the bed.
“So when it was dry, it was not dry for thunder as thunderstorms,” said Flunary.
Lives in a heat dome
A large area of high pressure in the United States is getting stuck in heat and humidity, which can cause excessive temperature Midwest in Friday and weekend, and next week in the Northeast.
Muggi season is coming from moisture north side Gulf of MexicoJacob Ashraman, a meteorologist at a weather forecast center, told the Associated Press.
in Florida, Where humid and warm summer are synonymous, heat indices (a combination of heat and humidity) are expected to reach 100 degrees for several days early next week.
National weather service Incisive The MAP Tampa shows the “medium” heat risk in the Bay for several days the next week, given a “major” risk with pockets of the region.
The typical afternoon storm serves as a natural air-conditioner in Tampa Bay, cooling the area during the hottest parts of the day.
As the heat dwells in the dome, it will bring dryer air to Florida and Tampa Bay, resulting in less storms that are scattered.
Flainry said he hoped that the area will continue to look at the storm later, depending on the wind directions. But how long is it difficult to pin.
“Will they be too late as last week?
Cold storm?
The hottest days of summer are those when there is no rain.
While the night's storms are better than nothing, they do not offer a calm effect as the afternoon storm, said Flaming.
While the rain helps reduce temperature, it also adds a lot of moisture, which can catch heat. Later storms also mean that there is less time to cool.
“When it rains overnight, it helps to cool things, but it is like a double-edge sword,” said Flynry.
“You have already missed the window to start the tendency of that cooling, and now you have found all this moisture on the surface that can maintain more heat.”
In the next five days, the possibility of rain in Tampa remains at least 50% each day, while in the mid -90s, it will be slightly above normal for this time of the year.
