Quentin Tarantino was offered an XXL salary by Netflix to write a film that another renowned director will make.
We thought that Netflix had finished with the very large productions, but obviously the platform intends to prove us wrong. On April 1, we learned of the existence of a follow -up project of the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the latest production of Quentin Tarantino.
This feature film released in 2019 immerses us at the end of the sixties in 1969, in a Hollywood marked by major changes. Leonardo DiCaprio appears in the skin of Rick Dalton, an actor has-been Who does not understand much in his time, and Brad Pitt embodies his faithful lining Cascades Cliff Booth.
Netflix takes out the checkbook to attract the biggest names in the cinema
No one imagined that a suite would be born, and yet the project is about to materialize. He has already been confirmed that Brad Pitt would resume his role, while David Fincher will succeed Quentin Tarantino as director. The latter will nevertheless take care of writing the scenario, for an astronomical salary of $ 20 million.
Negotiations are also underway with Leonardo DiCaprio, to whom Netflix offers “Millions of dollars” To play in this suite. The American actor had already collaborated with the platform, on the occasion of Adam McKay's Don't Look Up film. Finally, Margot Robbie – who embodied actress Sharon Tate in the first film – would have expressed her availability for the project.
The casting of the film already takes shape
New players have joined the distribution of the film. Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki were the first two names announced, in roles for the time being kept secret. We also know that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (the Watchmen series) will be there, in the role of a character described as inspired by the iconic Jim Brown, an actor specializing in the roles very appreciated by the moviegoers.
The first film also had the particularity of seeing many young performers who have since become cinema stars, in the role of followers of the Charles Manson sect: Margaret Qualley, Austin Butler, Mikey Madison or Maya Hawke. However, it would seem unlikely that the latter are stuck for the future (but you never know …).
The shooting of the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2 could soon start, with a view to an upcoming broadcast exclusively on Netflix.
