Malcolm: Bryan Cranston tried everything to bring the interpreter of Dewey back to the new series! – News series

Dewey's original interpreter will not return to the new series “Malcolm”, despite the efforts made by Bryan Cranston to convince him to participate in the project.

A few weeks ago, Malcolm fans learned that an emblematic member of the casting of the original series will not come back for the expected reboot on Disney+. While almost all the interpreters of the program agreed to stack – and in particular Frankie Muniz and Bryan Cranston – Erik Per Sullivan, has chosen not to resume his role as Dewey.

This is not a surprise, since the latter left his acting career behind him, and has chosen to end his public life. It therefore seemed impossible to convince him to return to the series, and it is for this reason that another actor was chosen to succeed him: Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, seen in particular in the Wynonna Earp and Fargo series.

Erik Per Sullivan's new life, far from Hollywood sets

Guest of the podcast hosted by actor David Spade, Bryan Cranston who plays Hal, the father of the family, spoke of the absence of Erik Per Sullivan. The Breaking Bad star reveals that she has tried everything to convince him to come back, but also that he understands and respects the reasons for his refusal:

I spoke to Erik and said to him: “Hey, the series will come back”. He replied: 'Oh, it's fantastic! And I said, “Yes, we can't wait for you to come back” he replied: 'Oh, no, no, no. (…) He goes to Harvard, in fact. He is very, very intelligent, and he is obtaining his mastery. He said to me, “Oh my God, no, I haven't played since the age of 9. I am not at all interested.

The shooting of the episodes of the new Malcolm series recently ended. The program does not yet have a broadcast date, but should land on Disney+ by the end of the year.
