Get ready to flex: the Superpower Pokémon Machop will be everywhere during Pokémon GO’s May 2025 Community Day Classic. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in every time zone, Machop will appear more frequently in the wild, giving Trainers extra chances to add the Fighting-type Pokémon—and its rare Shiny version—to their collections.
Anyone who logs in during the three-hour window automatically receives Timed Research tasks. Finishing these tasks grants an encounter with a Machop that features a special Might and Mastery-themed background. Trainers can complete the research any time in the week that follows the event.
Evolving Machop’s next stage, Machoke, during that same week rewards a Machamp that knows the charged attack Payback—a move normally unavailable to the powerhouse Pokémon.
