“”Lost boys and fairies“, Tonight on Arte
Indeed, Gabriel and Andy, as a couple for eight years, dream of founding a family … Accompanied by their social worker, Jackie, they embark on the project often complex to carry out adoption. Andy has enthusiastically projects himself into his future role as a father, while Gabriel, Drag Queen in the past marked by dependence, is advancing with more caution …
His reluctance find their roots in a childhood marked by the loss of his mother and the rejection of a homophobic father. Initially decided to adopt a girl at the end of a day of activity with children, their meeting with Jake – a young boy withdrawn from a violent father and placed with foster family – will upset their certainties and give birth to an unexpected link.
A committed, touching and funny series
Presented at the La Rochelle fiction festival in 2024, Lost Boys and Fairies won the Best European Fiction Prize at the end of this edition. The mini-series was created and written by Daf James, whose own story served as a matter for the scenario.
In the casting, Arte's public discovers faces that will probably be unknown to them. We thus find in the roles of Gabriel and Andy the excellent (and touching) actors Sion Danien Young and Fra Fee.
Young men also give here the reply to Elizabeth Berrington (Jackie), Sharon D. Clarke (Claire), Mali Ann Rees (Llinos), Leo Harris (Jake), William Thomas (Emrys), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Sandra), Arwel Gruffydd (Berwyn/Fanny ample) or Shaheen Jafargholi (Celyn).
Lost Boys and Fairies is broadcast Thursday June 5 on Arte at 8:55 p.m. and remains available on Arte.TV until December 4.
