
Dual American-Israel citizens Karen and Omri Mamon traveled to Israel last month to attend Omri's sister's wedding. They did not think that they would move their time from one house to another, searching the shelter.
A week after the wedding, Israel began her attack on Iran. Most of the flights outside Ben Gurian Airport were canceled, Many trapped and unable to go home,
Omri Mammon told CNN, “The first night, we have gone to the shelter three times, and since then, we are just jumping between the houses trying to find safe rooms. We have been trying to find a way back to Florida's home from Israel since then.”
Mamon said that he has previously lived in Israel and experiences shelter, “But this time is different.”
Mammons said that his main priority was getting his son, who has autism, back home. Karen Mammon said, “He had a lot of time screaming with sirens, noise, shelters and many people.”
Dozens of Americans who are trying to leave Israel at a hotel in Central Israel today, where the American Embassy Consular Staff began processing its departure.
Earlier in the week, the US Ambassador to Israel Mike Hukabi announced on social media that the embassy was arranging withdrawal flights and ships for American citizens who wanted to leave. Hakabi did not reveal when withdrawal efforts would begin.
Many hotel Americans told CNN that the embassy had organized flights to Athens, and from there, they would be able to catch flights back to the US. This was not clear, however, when those flights would be determined.
