New information about Toy Story 5 was revealed at a conference dedicated to future Pixar projects, and given during the Annecy animated film festival.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of one of the most popular licenses in the history of animation: Toy Story. Released in 1995, the very first part signed the big beginnings of the famous Pixar studios to infinity and beyond.
This feature film, today cult, embarks us in the room of young Andy, where toys come to life when humans have their back turned. Woody, a cowboy puppet, nevertheless sees his place as a favorite threatened when Andy receives the latest fashionable toy: an intrepid astronaut called Buzz L'Éclair.
After many adventures and a rivalry transformed into sincere friendship, the two accomplices are led to collaborate a umpteenth time when a newcomer comes to disturb the order of their child's life: technology.
To celebrate this anniversary, Pete Doctor, screenwriter on the very first film, went to the Annecy animated film festival to talk about the origins of the saga and this long -awaited suite.
“It was time for us to show what is going on when the past meets the present. When toys have to confront what really attracts children today: screens”he explains.
For this fifth installment, return to the adorable Bonnie, now eight years old, and who is offered a Lilypad: a connected tablet, just as alive as our friends, and convinced to be an essential to help Bonnie to socialize. To deal with this new enemy, Buzz and Jessie remind Woody at La Récousse, after their separation in the latest film released in 2019.
