After TF1 and France Télévisions, it's M6's turn to dive into the big bath of daily soap operas. The chain will launch this summer “new day” this summer, which we had the chance to discover the first episode.
While we were last April on the set – located in Montpellier and its surroundings – in the series, we were able to see this Monday, June 2 during a presentation to the press the first episode of the first daily soap opera of M6. In the groove more beautiful life, even more beautiful, tomorrow belongs to us, here it all begins, or even such a great sun, the one we nicknamed “the little chain that goes up” well intends to make a place in the landscape of daily series with new day.
New day, and new challenge for M6
And one thing is certain after seeing this first episode: viewers adept at family dramas, betrayals, lies, mysteries and twists and turns will not be disoriented. If it is a new challenge for M6, we are ready to bet that it will be taken up high as the ingredients essential to any good addictive soap opera are present.
New day stages a family, the Bartoli, at the head of a magnificent 4 star. The Patriarch, Lucien, having disappeared at sea, it was his eldest daughter, Louise, who took over the reins of the estate. The return to town of her niece, Théa, with whom she had no contact, will completely reshaped the cards in a family whose secrets and tensions we already guess. And as if that was not enough, a mysterious crow targets the Bartoli targets and weighs a heavy threat to them.
New day
In the credits, viewers will find familiar faces, such as Héléna Noguerra (Louise), Bruno Solo, Laëtitia Milot, Alexandre Varga, or Vincent Desagnat and Jean-Baptiste Maunier. New talents complete this distribution, of which Marion Aymé in the role of Théa, which is a real revelation.
Promising and generous beginnings
The least we can say is that the soap long starts on the wheel hats, with a flashforward in which Laëtitia Milot, hands covered with blood, finds himself alongside a lifeless body (whose identity and the circumstances of death are unknown), assuring Théa that she could not do anything to save the deceased.
The credits, written, written, composed and interpreted by the singer Hoshi, which will be available on all the platforms on June 13.
The intrigue then goes back in time, four months earlier, with the return of Théa to her hometown, where she finds her family and her boyfriend. A graduate in the hotel and catering and strong of experience in the greatest Parisian palaces, she immediately appears as a stubborn young woman, determined and full of resources.
There is no doubt that his arrival will have the effect of a tornado among the Bartoli, who already have a lot to do between the marriage of Louise, who is about to marry in just weddings with her companion, and the burst of a crow, whose threatening shadow hovers on the ceremony, before manifesting himself explosively at the end of the episode.
A soap as we like them
In about twenty minutes, a new day therefore has a mysterious death, a wedding ceremony that turns into a nightmare, family reunion under high tension, a crow, and a cliffhanger that will certainly make you want to see the rest. All in a tone mixing thriller, comedy and drama, in the sumptuous setting of the castle of the Domaine de Capion, in Occitanie, used for the Bartoli hotel.
Mohamed Benyekhlef and Mari Mouazan, the creators of the soap opera, know what they are doing since they have worked in the past on here it all starts. On the set, they claimed to our microphone the influence of programs like Melrose Place and Dynasty, and enthusiastic about the artistic freedom that the chain gave them.
After viewing, New day has the effect of a breath of freshness within the daily series and could easily find a place there. Hopefully the public will be at the rendezvous of this soap opera, of which M6 has not yet revealed the date of broadcasting.
