On July 11, you have an appointment to save the galaxy. Appletv+ will launch season 3 of Foundation that day, its epic science fiction series. It will be broadcast at a weekly rate until September 12.
What will season 3 about Foundation are going to talk about?
Season 3 of the science fiction series will take place 152 years after the events of season 2:
The Foundation has firmly established far beyond its modest beginnings, while the Empire of the Cleon dynasty is in decline. While these two galactic powers try to build a fragile alliance, a new threat arises: that of a formidable warlord known as the mule, ready to conquer the universe by physical and military force … but also by the control of thought. Who will win? Who will lose? Who will live, and who will die? While Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cléons and Demerzel compete in a game of intergalactic chess to the fatal issues whose outcome can predict the outcome.
It was Pilou Asbæk (Euron Grayjoy in Game of Thrones) who was chosen to lend his features to the mule. In the Asimov foundation cycle, it is a mutant who has the power to adjust the emotions of others, to convert them to his cause.
He can thus transform “his enemies into allies” as he explains very well in this trailer. Our heroes will therefore have a lot to face this terrible conqueror who intends to undermine the future of civilization as we know it by creating its own galactic empire.

Why two years of waiting?
Foundation is a particularly ambitious series, both in writing and in the staging. After the success of season 2 – and the very good feedback from the press and spectators – Appletv+ decides to renew it for an additional season.
The shooting begins in the spring of 2023 but was quickly interrupted by the strike of the writers then of the actors who hit Hollywood that summer. Studios must wait until early 2024 to be able to revive the shots in Prague.
But after a few days, the actors and members of the technical team are sent home as explained Deadline : The ambition is such for season 3 that the budget explodes. A solution must then be found to lower production costs while maintaining the quality of the decor and practical effects. After two weeks of negotiations, the shooting can finally resume for Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell and the other actors.
During this period, the co-creator of Foundation David S. Goyer announced to leave his place as a showrunner for the benefit of Bill Bost but continues to advise the teams…
