Daniel Medvedev brought his 20th win of 2025 in Halley to Terra Wortman Open in style on Monday.

The third seed reduced the 6-3, 6-3 victory against the wild card Daniel Altamier of the house to book its second round location in the Grass-Cort ATP500. Medvedev performed 63 minutes to kick-start his campaign at an event, where he arrived in the championship match in 2022.

“This is a very convenient place to play tennis,” Halle's Medvedev said, “It is famous for the player hotel on the site after his victory.” “You live in a hotel two minutes from the practice court and two minutes away from the center court. So this is the only tournament in the year where you also go back to your hotel room after your warmup.

“It also looks a little strange. I am a little afraid to do it too much, I am going to sleep and remembering the match! So it's a fun tournament and I am always happy to come back.”

PIF ATP rankings is one former number 1, Medvedev is currently number 10 in PIF ATP Live rankings. He could rarely make a more solid start for his latest bid for the first ATP Tour title after 2023 against Altmier. According to Infosys ATP statistics, Medvedev converted three out of six brake points, while he also saved both the brake points faced in the match 4-2, 15/40 in the second set.

“I liked it very much, honestly,” said Medvedev. “I think I have paid a great match. In a few moments where I was to be decisive, I managed to do it. A few moments where I had to save some brake points and such things, I managed to do it, so I am very happy with my match and looking towards the next one.”

Medvedev, who started his grass season by reaching the 'S-Hartogenbosh Quarter Final' last week, is now 20–12 for the 2025 season. The 29-year-old will take 6-4, 6-4 winners against Benjamin Bonzi in the second round in the hall in the second round.

It adds all

The 2023 champion Alexander Babical registered an equally comfortable initial win on Monday when he reduced Alexandre Muller by 6-4, 6-4. Bubliel overtakes Muller in its first set in its first set from 3-4 consecutive matches 3-4, and he wrapped his victory in 61 minutes to improve his Halle tournament record 7–1.

Bublik will take the top seed and rescue champion on Jannik Sinner or Qualifier Yannick Hanfmann in the second round, while Fabian Marozson also proceeded in the top quarter of the draw. Hungarian opened the drama of the week with a victory of 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4 against Miomycanovic with a win of 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4.

An exciting conclusion for the day's game was when Stephanos Tsitipus passed a rigorous test from Luciano Dordery to improve 5–0 in the Halley opening round. The 12-time ATP tour champion conquered 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5) to set a second round meeting with the fifth seed Francisco Srendolo or Alex Micelsen.
