The teaser of season 3 of “the diplomat” announces the arrival of Bradley Whitford. The former actor of “at the White House” will find Allison Janney and join Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell in the next season of the political thriller.
These are reunions for the actors of The West Wing: at the White House in the diplomat. The trailer for season 3, unveiled by Netflix, offers a first overview of the role of Bradley Whitford in the role of the First Gentleman Todd Penn, husband of Grace Penn (Allison Janney), whose viewers learned at the end of season 2 that she was about to become president after the death of President Rayburn (Michael McKean).
In the teaser, which reveals that the third season will be broadcast this fall, we see Todd Penn, embodied by Whitford, be taken to an office before he and his wife stretch. The short extracts also show the heroine Kate Wyler, embodied by Keri Russell, running while calling, apparently in the moments that follow the amazing end of the second season, as well as Todd and Kate in a swimming pool, looking at each other with a suspicious air.
The teaser ends with the Penn and Kate sitting face to face, tasting cocktails in a decor resembling a living room, while Todd asks: “How was the day at the office for everyone?“”

What about season 3 of the diplomat is talking about?
Here is the official synopsis of season 3 published by Netflix: “In season 3 of the diplomat, ambassador Kate Wyler saw the particular nightmare represents the fact of obtaining what we want. She has just accused the vice-president Grace Penn of having fomented a terrorist conspiracy and admitted that she coveted the post of vice-president. But now the president is dead, Kate's husband, Hal (Rufus sewell)may have inadvertently killed him, and Grace Penn is at the head of the free world.
None of this slows Hal's campaign to get the vice-president for Kate. Kate takes on a role she never wanted, with a freedom that she did not expect, an increasingly complicated friendship with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Austin Dennison (David Gyasi) And a disconcerting link with the First Gentleman Todd Penn.“”
Like Grace Penn – before Alison Janney joined the diplomat in season 2, Todd Penn was first talked about without having been seen. Viewers learned at the start of season 1 that he had lost part of a subsidy of the NIH (National Institutes of Health, the National Health Institutes), creating a scandal which, according to the advisers of Rayburn, meant that Grace was going to resign and that they were going to have to recruit a new vice-president, considering Kate for this post.
Season 3 of the diplomat will be available this fall on Netflix.
