Dallas-Fort Worth-based American Airlines (AA) The Auckland (AKL) route starting from January 5, 2026 will introduce its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a new major suit on Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW).

American Airlines 787-9P to Auckland
Premium-Configer 244-seat 787-9 Supporting the presence of American expansion in South Pacific, will operate daily and complement Brisbane (BNE) to its future service. The route will use flight number AA035 (DFW to AKL) and AA034 (AKL to DFW).
American Airlines is increasing its long offer by deploying its next generation Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with flagship suites on major intercontinental routes.
From January 5, 2026, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Auckland (AKL) will have the facility of this advanced aircraft, which will show late-flat flagship suit seating in business class, privacy doors and better features, which are better facilities for the purpose of long-lasting travelers.
- The flight AA035 will depart DFW at 22:30 and reach AKL at 09:10 later.
- Return flight, AA034, departs at Auckland at 13:20 and comes to Dallas at 08:05 pm on the same day, works daily.
The move strengthens the American South Pacific Network, especially beyond the launch of the airline service for Brisbane (BNE), provides a spontaneous access to two major Australians and the destinations of New Zealand.

CES 2026 and strategic adjustment for European summer
In response to high demand around CES 2026 in Las Vegas (LAS), American Airlines has added limited time international flights, including:
- Las Vegas (LAS) from Seoul Incheon (ICN): 3 January, 4 and 5 outbound flights; Return flights on 9, 10 and 11 January.
- Las Vegas from London Heathro (LHR) (LAS) And Tokyo Narita (NRT): Daily flights operate between 2-11 January Boeing 777-200er,
Additionally, the American is accelerating its European summer season:
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – Barcelona (BCN): On February 12, 2026 (before 29 March), it was resumed, initially switched to 777–200er using 787–8 and from 8 March.
- New York JFK – Barcelona (BCN): Winter 2025 planned service extension has been canceled.

Other changes
South America Network Rethinking
Carrier is adjusing its South America services during the Northern Winter 2025/26 season AirroutMajor changes include:
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – Rio de Janeiro (Gig): Now starts from December 18, 2025, from 31 December, 787-8 aircraft and daily service are operated weekly weekly.
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – Santiago de Chile (SCL): Seasonal service resumes on October 26, 2025, replacing 787-8 already employed with 777–200er.
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – Sao Paulo Guarulos (GRU): From December 19 to February 8, 2026, seasonal frequency increases to 10 weekly flights (7x 787-9 and 3x 787-8).
Miami and Philadelphia long-hall update
American has made remarkable seasonal aircraft swap and service changes for the routes of Miami and Philadelphia (PHL):
- Miami (MIA) – Barcelona (BCN): October 26, 2025 to February 10, 2026 operates with 787-8, replacing a pre-determined 777-200er.
- Miami (MIA) – Buenos Aires Aziza (Ez): Peak season service increases to 4x daily with additional flights (AA982/983) from 3 December to 11 February.
- Miami (MIA) – Paris Charles de Gaul (CDG): Started again on December 18, 2025 with 787-8 service.
- Miami (MIA) – Sao Paulo Guarulos (GRU)Mixing aircraft mixed with: 26 October, 2025 to 777-200er, 777-300er, and 787-8.
- Philadelphia (PHL) – Lisbon (LIS): Place of normal 787-8, operated from 787-9 from 3 November to 17, 787-9.
