Notice to fans of romantic comedies, Prime Video has just put online a new film of the genre. This new French feature film written by Patrick Cassir and Jim Birmant and directed by Patrick Cassir a little taste of deja-vu, since he uses the concept of temporal loop, which consists in tirelessly reliving events.
You surely think of the cult film one day endless by watching this new French comedy, but if there is a feeling of deja vu, it is also because it is a remake of an American film, which had been cardboard five years ago during the world pandemic.
If you have not seen Palm Springs, written by Andy Siara and directed by Max Barbakow, then you can get involved in a funny and touching romance against a background of science fiction. But if you've ever seen Palm Springs, you will certainly feel like you are seeing a very similar film.
An endless wedding day
An endless wedding takes us to a remote hotel in Morocco, where Louna (Camille Rowe), the sister of the bride, and Paul (Tarek Boudali), the boyfriend of one of the bridesmaids, meet.
Riddle by boredom, Louna lets herself be seduced by this curious guest. But while they are preparing to conclude their evening in the middle of the desert, Paul is attacked by a mysterious attacker and flees in a cave, followed closely by Louna.
When she woke up, she discovers that she is stuck in a time loop with Paul, condemned to relive this day endlessly. She seeks to get out of it by all means, while Paul, who has been stuck for longer than she, guides her with mischief through the meanders of this endless marriage.
Together, they explore this strange reality, oscillating between laughter, despair and unforeseen rapprochements. And if they found, behind the absurdity of their situation, an unexpected chance of giving meaning to their existence … and perhaps even to discover love?
