10 million copies sold: Netflix unveils the first images of its new knives drawn

Netflix has just unveiled the first images of “The Thursday Murder Club” the very chic and very British adaptation of the famous novel by Richard Osman produced by Netflix and produced by Chris Columbus.

Where will you be on August 28? Surely in front of Netflix, to discover the adaptation of the best seller by Richard Osman entitled The Thursday Murder Club, and sold at 10 million copies. Netflix has just unveiled a first trailer that makes us want to swap our summer clothes for a trench coat and an investigator.

And what we remember from these first images is the class of its distribution: Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Ben Kingsley form a trio as chic as it is funny. Mirren embodies Elizabeth, an ex-spy, Kingsley camps Ibrahim, an ex-psychiatrist, and Brosnan performs Ron, a former trade unionist.

The Thursday Murder Club follows a group of friends in a retirement home that meet to resolve murders for pleasure, but who find themselves involved in a real affair. It was Chris Columbus (mom I missed the plane, Harry Potter) who was chosen to make.

Only Murders in the Building Meeting with knives drawn

The style of the trailer is reminiscent of that of pulled knives, the saga whodunit by Rian Johnson carried by the very British Daniel Craig Aka Benoit Blanc. As for this quartet of retirees, they also make us think of Only Murdingers in the Building, the series with Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez. They play budding investigators who manage to resolve crimes before the police.

If The Thursday Murder Club manages to reach the quality of these last two references, then you will absolutely not have to miss this film produced by Steven Spielberg via its company Amblin Entertainment. If the success is there, Netflix could in any case make it a new franchise. Its author has indeed written three suites, the last of which is expected for 2025.

The meeting is therefore given for August 28.
