She is only 30 years old and she is already a director to follow. For her first feature film, Louise Courvoisier has chosen to film what she knows by bringing us into the Jura to follow the funny and authentic daily newspaper of French agricultural youth.

Twenty gods tells the story of Totone, 18, who spends most of his time drinking beers and skimming the Jura balls with her group of friends. But reality catches up with him: he must take care of his 7 year old little sister and find a way to earn a living.

He then sets out to make the best county in the region, the one with which he would win the gold medal in the agricultural competition and 30,000 euros. Totone begins to dream of a better future with his sister, but also his girlfriend Marie-Lise.

This first feature film is a personal but also family success since her sister, Ella Courvoisier, is the leader, while her brother Pablo and her mother Linda take care of music.

One of the best successes of the year 2024 is more than a film about the county, twenty gods is an enchanting and realistic initiatory tale which represents as much agricultural production and the terroir as the Jura energy and its youth but also the sublime landscapes of the region.
